About Karen

My love for color and art began as soon as I could hold a crayon. I was born with the desire to create and have always been the happiest when being creative, no matter the medium. Even though my dad said, “You cannot make any money being an artist!” the urge would not go away. As a young adult, I belonged to an art guild and even sold some of my work. After marriage and starting a family, I filled my spare time with hobbies to fulfill my creative urge, such as painting, pottery, quilting, sewing, and scrap booking. At the age of 55, when our three children had completed college, I attended the Texas School of Photography and my life was changed forever.  I came home, quit my day job and started following my heart.

I have attending the Texas School of Photography fifteen years now.  I am also a member of the Professional Photographers' Guild of Houston, Texas PPA and the Professional Photographers of America. Photography fulfilled my dream of becoming an artist. I am a Certified Professional Photographer, a Master Photographer and earned a Craftsman Degree by teaching and mentoring other photographers. Photographing senior citizens 65 years and older at no charge and giving them a 5x7 print is another way that I give back. This has truly been a rewarding journey!

I love creating art for my clients, art that will be cherished for generations to come.

"Art is not what you see;
It is what you make other see."
